Cuttuck: IPL 2010 T20 Update: Deccan Chargers beat Punjab by six runs! In an exciting and close match Deccan Chargers beat Punjab by 6 runs at the Barabati Stadium Cuttak yesterday.
Chasing the target of 171, opener Bopara managed 38 runs of 32 and was dismissed by Sharma. After him, it was Irfaan Pathan alone, who fought for the team and took it close to the target, but failed to reach.
He made a wonderful 60 runs of just 29 bowls. Earlier, in the match Sangakara led Punjab won the toss and put the chargers into bat first.
From the chargers side, Symonds batted well and made 53 of 38, while Gilchrist,Gibbs and Suman joined him with 33, 23 and 26 to settle a good target for the Punjab.
With this victory the chargers made a record to register their first ever win over Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League so far.
